WHAT I DO

I create human stories through commercials, branded films and documentaries.

My work ranges from big-budget productions with companies like Stink and Furlined, to intimate portraits of unknown heroes in remote places.

My role ranges from directing a script, to identifying, casting and developing stories in the hero’s own words that naturally align with the brand’s objectives.

APPROACH

HOW I WORK

I believe the human face is the most compelling image in film.


I begin with recorded conversations with the hero that shape and inspire the visuals. Every conversation is a search for the point where the hero’s story naturally overlaps with the brand’s story.


The story is created collaboratively before production, giving client and agency more peace of mind. The result is work that resonates more deeply with an audience.

BACKGROUND

WHERE IT HAS TAKEN ME

I’ve lived with an indigenous female climbing crew in Bolivia, a shaman in Indonesia, a survivalist in the Turkish desert, and a child soldier in Africa.

I’ve climbed a mountain with Jimmy Chin in the States, sat in a freezer with Dutch legend Wim Hof, and explored the ocean in Bali with Alexey Molchanov.


I have put a camera on the edge of the earth’s atmosphere, invented the GoPro canine rig, and made too many films about dogs.

I have a base in Cape Town and work globally - please reach out to see where I am currently.
